Siemens SINAMICS Fault F01001 — Overcurrent
What This Fault Means
F01001 indicates the drive's output current exceeded the hardware overcurrent limit. The Control Unit shuts down the pulse pattern immediately to protect the IGBTs.
Common Causes
- Short circuit in motor cables or motor windings
- Ground fault on the output side
- Motor auto-identification (P1910) not completed after motor replacement
- Ramp time (P1120) too short for the load inertia
- IGBT module failure inside the power module
Recommended Fix
- Disconnect the motor cables from U, V, W terminals and megger-test.
- If motor and cables pass, re-run motor identification (P1910 = 1, commission).
- Increase the ramp-up time (P1120).
- Check for ground faults in the cable run.
- If F01001 persists with no motor connected, the power module needs replacement.
