Siemens SINAMICS Fault F30011 — Power Module Overtemperature
What This Fault Means
F30011 means the power module's heatsink temperature exceeded the maximum allowed value. The drive trips to protect the IGBT power semiconductors from thermal destruction.
Common Causes
- Blocked or failed cooling fan on the power module
- Ambient temperature inside the cabinet exceeds 40°C
- Switching frequency set too high (P1800) for the load
- Continuous operation above rated output current
- Dust accumulation on heatsink fins
Recommended Fix
- Check the power module fan — it should spin freely and produce airflow. Replace if stalled.
- Measure cabinet internal temperature and add ventilation if above 40°C.
- Reduce the switching frequency (P1800) — lower values reduce IGBT losses.
- Clean dust from heatsink fins with compressed air (de-energized).
- Verify the drive is not continuously overloaded — check r0027 (motor current) vs rated current.
