PowerFlex Fault F041 — Heatsink Overtemp

Fault Code PowerFlex 525 / 753 / 755 Allen-Bradley

What This Fault Means

F041 means the drive's internal heatsink temperature exceeded the safe operating threshold. The drive shuts down to prevent thermal damage to the power electronics.

Common Causes

Recommended Fix

  1. Check and clean the drive's cooling fan and air intake. Replace the fan if it's not spinning.
  2. Measure ambient temperature inside the enclosure — add ventilation or A/C if above 40°C.
  3. Verify the motor FLA does not exceed the drive's continuous current rating.
  4. Allow the drive to cool, then reset. If F041 recurs immediately, the temperature sensor may be faulty.
