Yaskawa Fault GF — Ground Fault

Fault Code Yaskawa GA800 / GA700 / A1000 Yaskawa

What This Fault Means

The GF fault means the drive detected a ground fault on the output side. Current is leaking from the motor circuit to ground, indicating an insulation failure.

Common Causes

Recommended Fix

  1. Disconnect motor cables from the drive.
  2. Megger each phase to ground — expect >1 MΩ.
  3. If the cable fails, isolate cable from motor and test each separately.
  4. For cable runs >50m, install a dV/dt filter or output reactor.
  5. Check the motor junction box for moisture and re-seal.
