Labeler Fault — No Label Detected
What This Fault Means
A no-label-detected fault means the label sensor did not detect a label passing through within the expected time window. The machine stops to prevent unlabeled product from passing downstream.
Common Causes
- Label roll ran out or loaded incorrectly
- Label sensor dirty or misaligned
- Label gap or black mark not matching sensor type (gap vs. mark sensor)
- Web broken between the unwind and the peel plate
- Label adhesive buildup on the peel plate preventing clean separation
Recommended Fix
- Check the label supply — reload if empty.
- Clean the label sensor lens with a dry cloth.
- Verify the sensor type matches the label style: gap sensor for clear-gap labels, mark sensor for black-mark labels.
- Re-thread the web through the peel plate and applicator.
- Clean adhesive residue from the peel plate edge with isopropyl alcohol.
