GS20 Fault E.OH — Drive Overheating
What This Fault Means
E.OH indicates the drive's internal temperature sensor detected excessive heat. The drive trips to protect the power electronics from thermal damage.
Common Causes
- Ambient temperature above 40°C (104°F)
- Blocked ventilation around the drive
- Drive mounted too close to other heat-generating equipment
- Internal fan failure (on frame sizes with active cooling)
- Continuous operation above rated current
Recommended Fix
- Verify the ambient temperature inside the enclosure is below 40°C.
- Ensure minimum clearances: 50mm above/below, 25mm sides.
- Check that the internal fan spins freely (applicable to larger frame sizes).
- Reduce the load or upgrade to a higher-rated drive if continuously overloading.
- Allow the drive to cool before resetting.
