GS20 Fault E.OH — Drive Overheating

What This Fault Means

E.OH indicates the drive's internal temperature sensor detected excessive heat. The drive trips to protect the power electronics from thermal damage.

Common Causes

• Ambient temperature above 40°C (104°F)
• Blocked ventilation around the drive
• Drive mounted too close to other heat-generating equipment
• Internal fan failure (on frame sizes with active cooling)
• Continuous operation above rated current

Recommended Fix

1. Verify the ambient temperature inside the enclosure is below 40°C.
2. Ensure minimum clearances: 50mm above/below, 25mm sides.
3. Check that the internal fan spins freely (applicable to larger frame sizes).
4. Reduce the load or upgrade to a higher-rated drive if continuously overloading.
5. Allow the drive to cool before resetting.
