Air Compressor Fault — Low Oil Pressure
What This Fault Means
A low oil pressure fault means the oil pressure sensor detected insufficient lubrication pressure for the compressor element. Without adequate oil, the screw elements can seize within seconds.
Common Causes
- Low oil level (consumption, leak, or foaming)
- Clogged oil filter restricting flow
- Failed oil pump (on pressure-lubricated models)
- Oil pressure sensor malfunction
- Wrong oil type causing excessive foaming
Recommended Fix
- STOP immediately — low oil damages the element within seconds.
- Check the oil level through the sight glass. Top off with the manufacturer-specified oil.
- Replace the oil filter if the pressure differential exceeds spec.
- Inspect for external oil leaks at fittings, hoses, and the separator tank.
- If oil is foaming, drain and replace with the correct compressor oil grade.
